For its Roaring Twenties benefit on September 18, Family Centers transported guests back to a time when jazz music filled the air, flapper dancers were all the rage and elegance was always in fashion.
Co-chairs Kate Clark, Susannah Heyworth, Bri Hart, Ashley Reid and Carter Simonds created a magical evening that captured the romance, glamour and style of one of America’s most iconic eras. Held at the Greenwich home of Tia and Michael Mahaffy, the event’s cocktail hour featured a champagne tower, a three-piece ragtime band and delicious bites from Marcia Selden Catering.
As guests moved into the beautifully decorated tent, they enjoyed a sit-down dinner while listening to 20’s and 30’s standards courtesy of Hal Prince Music & Entertainment. Following brief remarks from Family Centers’ Board Chair Nancy Casserley and CEO Bob Arnold, guests took to the floor and danced the night away.
Greenwich resident Ken Habul also was named the raffle winner of the 1951 MG-TD convertible roadster donated by Ginny and Sean Day.
The Roaring Twenties benefit was Family Centers’ largest fundraiser of the year, and raised nearly $910,000 for the agency’s health, education and human service programs serving more than 20,000 Fairfield County residents each year.
