Over 300 students and parents from Fairfield, New Haven, Westchester, Putnam, New York City and Long Island attended the 9th annual Private Day & Boarding School Fair hosted by the Greenwich Education Group. The event, which was held at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich, CT, brought together representatives from close to 100 schools, who spoke to the prospective students and their families.
“Our goal is to ensure that families become familiar with the wonderful educational opportunities available to students at a variety of outstanding private day and boarding schools, and then concentrate on how to improve the probability of our students attending their school of choice. It is all about the best fit for each student,” said Victoria C. Newman, Founder and Executive Director of Greenwich Education Group, summing up her company’s objective.
Proceeds from the event benefited The Town of Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund, which provides low-income families with access to summer camp and sports programs as well as REACH Prep, a Stamford-based nonprofit that gives underserved, high-achieving students access to transformative educational experiences that empower them to graduate from top colleges.
“We are so proud that our annual Private Day & Boarding School Fair continues to be such a successful event. We are incredibly grateful to all of the secondary schools for their participation, which allowed prospective students and their families to see the variety of independent schools and provided the unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with directors of admission,” said Newman.
