The UJA-JCC Greenwich Annual Education Symposium took place at Greenwich Reform Synagogue in Cos Cob. Over sixty women gathered for a morning of stimulating presentations by experts. Natural chef and TV personality Andrea Beaman advised “Let Food Be Your Medicine,” Rabbi Daniel Gropper taught about “Love & Consent” in the time of #MeToo, and cave expedition leader Chris Nicola revealed “No Place on Earth,” the amazing story of five families who survived the Holocaust by living underground. The Symposium brings cultural programming to the local community and provides opportunity for networking and connection around shared interest in the arts, history, literature, health and popular culture. Greenwich newcomers are invited as guests and new and old friends reunite over coffee, breakfast and stimulating conversation. Participants enjoyed the hospitality of Greenwich Reform Synagogue and the light breakfast included granola selections provided by Paleo Passion Foods of Greenwich. Honorary Chair, and long-standing steward of this event, Joan Mann, remarks “It was a great morning. Speakers were varied and dynamic—such good choices—and the format of sequential presentations for all to hear worked beautifully. It was such a pleasure to work with committed and dedicated ladies as our Co-Chairs Kim Sands and Christine Toback.”
