The New Canaan Mounted Troop held its 80th Anniversary Gala, “Jumping Through the Years,” on November 9. Two hundred and forty guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner, dancing to music by Tangled Vine, and live and silent auctions. Brian Williams, host of The 11th Hour with Brian Williams, emceed the event, held at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, CT, with Allan Lamberti serving as auctioneer. New Canaan Mounted Troop builds leadership in youth through sound horsemanship and enriching lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities. “Eighty years as a nonprofit is an amazing triumph for any organization,” says NCMT Executive Director Sara Tucker. “Steeped in history and tradition, New Canaan Mounted Troop continues to lead generations of children to become responsible individuals, confident equestrians, thoughtful leaders; and it continues to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities. We are so grateful to our many supporters and sponsors for this special event.”
