Pequot Library hosted their “Raise the Roof” Spring Gala fundraiser at their Southport, CT location. Staff members greeted guests with glasses of prosecco and sparkling water and welcomed them into the spacious auditorium blooming with springtime colors and flowers. Valor Spirits and Broken Shed Vodka provided specialty cocktails, and Greens Farms Spirit Shop brought a selection of fine wine and beverages. An array of gourmet treats and beautiful centerpieces in the vaulted-ceilinged space drew guests in, while colorful paper lanterns festooned every corner.
The cocktail party was capped off with a paddle raise in support of Pequot Library’s educational and School Outreach programs which serve hundreds of students from Fairfield and Bridgeport. Guests then proceeded to private dinners graciously hosted by local community members in their homes and businesses. The Spring Gala is an essential special event for the 129-year-old library, which fundraises 70% of its operating budget each year. All proceeds from this evening help to preserve Pequot Library’s historic building and support educational programs, performances, library services, and art and history exhibitions for all ages.
