Golfers gathered at theย Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamfordย for the 6th Annual Peter Cernansky Memorial Golf Tournament, being presented by the Peter Cenansky Memorial Fund and the Stamford Public Education Foundation. This special event was established by the parents of Peter Cernansky to honor the memory of their son, a Westhill High school graduate who met with a tragic accident shortly after arriving in Vermont to begin college.
The day kicked off with a Welcome Brunch, featuring a selection of delicious food to fuel the golfers. A Silent Auction opened during brunch and with its enticing array of items, it attracted bidders throughout the event. Items included baskets (โPink Flamingo Party,โ Bourbon Bar,โ โMix Your Margarittaโ), Jewelry (Pandora Bracelet, Victorinox Swiss Army Watches), Fun Experiences (Pasta Making Party, Wine Tasting, Photo Shoots), Sports Memorabilia, and more.
At the sound of the air horn, golfers climbed aboard their carts for the shot gun start, and hit the scenic Rockrimmon course to shoot 18 holes of golf.ย As the golfers completed the course around 5:00 p.m., they were joined by those who opted to join in the festivities at cocktail hour, with a dinner buffet to follow. During a touching presentation Chuck and Sharon Cernansky gave their thanks to all who were in attendance to remember their son and raise funds for students in Stamford Public Schools, specifically programs aimed at fostering positive student-athlete development and growth.
