Supporters lit up the sky with red, yellow and white paper lanterns at two walks on consecutive weekends to raise money for blood cancer research. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter held Light the Night walks, first at Harbor Point in Stamford, CT, on October 29, then at Kingsland Point County Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY, on November 5. Music and food energized the walkers before they set out on their one- to two-mile walk through an arch of colorful balloons. More than 1,000 walkers came to the Stamford walk in honor of Mike Zuccaro and in memory of Kyle Markes. In Sleepy Hollow, about 4,000 people attended and Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett and Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray announced honorees Ross Silverberg and Danny Levinson and honored the memories of Yolanda Blanco and Bob Santucci.
