A Sweet Treat: Cupcakes in the Jar

For a fun take on a now-classic dessert, White Plains, NY, native and owner of Baked to Perfection, Nicole Bochinis, recently launched BTP in a Jar ($7 per jar, minimum 4 per order). “I loved the idea of layering each part of the cupcake into a jar that could be enjoyed with a spoon,” says Bochinis, who started offering the pretty desserts last fall. With flavors like cookies and cream, funfetti and s’mores, they are also “a great favor for any party or gift for friends, families and teachers,” she says.

Bochinis, who has a degree in pastry arts from Manhattan’s The Institute of Culinary Education, takes orders online for her micro-bakery, as she’s dubbed it. (You can also find the desserts at pop-ups, like Rooster’s Market in White Plains, NY.) “My love for cupcakes is what inspired me to launch BTP and it is a way for me to let my creativity shine,” she says. Her creatively decorated cupcakes come in a variety of flavors, with rotating monthly options (think: pumpkin churro cheesecake in November) as well as favorite standbys like s’mores, fried Oreo, and cookies and cream.
