Celebrity chef, Chopped star and Serendipity guest editor Geoffrey Zakarian just opened The National on Greenwich Avenue. To celebrate this return to Fairfield County, Zakarian and his wife Margaret are sharing their top local picks for eating and shopping!

Green & Tonic
“I get their spicy avocado wrap, teriyaki cashews and no bake cookies. I grab [snacks] for the train. I wish there was one in the city,” says Margaret.

“We loved to go to brunch there, on the water, when we lived here,” says Geoffrey.

“[CEO] Andy Pforzheimer and I worked together at Le Cirque,” says Geoffrey. “They do a really nice job with the margarita there.”

Elm Street Oyster House
“The freshest oysters in Connecticut,” says Geoffrey. “When we were opening we had meetings there.”

“They were doing the juice thing before everyone else,” says Margaret.

“The girls in there are so great,” says Margaret.

Ralph Lauren
“The store is so gorgeous; it transports you when you’re there,” says Margaret.

Diane’s Books
“We love to go there with the girls,” says Margaret.
