A Jean-Georges Restaurant Comes to Greenwich

Here’s a new spot for date night or dinner with friends: Happy Monkey, the latest restaurant from Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten of NYC’s ABC Cocina fame, as well as some 40 other restaurants. Slated to open this summer on Greenwich Avenue, you’ll find seasonal dishes with a Latin twist, like shrimp tacos, whole roasted cauliflower with sour cherry mole, arroz con pollo, strawberry mango crisp and a variety of popsicles— plus a fun “margarita menu.” The restaurant features a mural of artist Frida Kahlo with her pet spider monkey, created by NYC-based see.studios, and a large table perfect for parties.

Says Vongerichten’s of his summer must-haves: “I have so many favorite summer dishes, it’s hard to pick just one!,” says the Michelin-starred chef. “I love to eat with a big group of people and share a selection of dishes, family style. Some of these dishes include sucrine and arugula salad, pea guacamole, fluke crudo, corn and tomato salad, and spicy corn. In the summer, I like to drink rosé and refreshing drinks such as a watermelon rosé sangria. Crisp, light and delicious.”
