Hand-Carved Writing Utensils

Danielle DeVico and Jason Gonz were high school friends who reconnected in 2015. But getting married in 2018 was just the start of their new life together. Jason introduced Danielle to woodworking and she realized she shared his passion. After three years honing their skills, they turned a hobby into a business. They launched JD Woodworks in 2017, which they rebranded in January of this year as Beekman Made, to create custom and handmade cutting boards, ladles, wine stoppers and more…

A popular gift item are their original hand-carved pens and pencils ($25 and $45 each). Each one has particular sentimental value to Danielle because a pencil was the first thing she learned how to make. “Who knew a pencil could open up a whole new world for us?” says Danielle.
