More than 350 people attended The Benefit for Greenwich Hospital on September 22, celebrating the public launch of Yale New Haven Health Greenwich Hospital’s $125 million Arc of Care Campaign, its first campaign in nearly two decades.
This historic initiative, which has already raised more than $65 million during a four-year silent phase, enters a new era in philanthropic impact that will continue to propel the hospital’s expansion in five key clinical areas: behavioral health, children’s health, heart and vascular, neuroscience, and oncology.
The festivities transformed Greenwich Country Club. Friends, supporters, community members, Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine leadership gathered for a cocktail hour in the ballroom followed by dinner and dancing under a tent decorated with hundreds of lush plants – a living installation representing health, nurturing, renewal and growth.
The Benefit included a poignant moment to honor beloved oncologist Dr. Dickerman Hollister Jr., who retired in 2021 after more than four decades of cancer care that touched a myriad of local patients and their families. Central to the evening was the public moment of celebration revealing the campaign’s name and $125 million goal.
“The Arc of Care Campaign makes possible life-changing science through transformative philanthropy,” said Noël Appel, Greenwich Hospital senior vice president and chief development officer. “Over the past four years, the philanthropic resources our devoted community provided have fueled our important work across key clinical disciplines, ensuring that our patients receive the most advanced care, close to home. We can only realize this level of growth in collaboration with our community, for which we are incredibly grateful.”
