75 Years of Service in Fairfield County

Rand Insurance

For three quarters of a century, RAND INSURANCE (randinsurance.com), based in Riverside, CT, has served Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan and the surrounding communities, as well as various local and national charitable organizations.

Throughout the past 75 years, Rand Insurance has specialized in providing personalized, innovative insurance advice and products to meet the needs of business and personal clients throughout the Fairfield County area. It has also given back to numerous charities, including museums, libraries, hospitals, community organizations and local sports teams, as well as national health organizations.

What charities are a priority for Rand Insurance at the moment? Right now we’re working with the Norwalk Maritime Museum and The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. These are two organizations which provide services directly to their users. The museum serves thousands of children and adults with their educational programs serving Fairfield County and the State of Connecticut. The Food Bank provides needed support directly to those in our communities that are most in need of basic life requirements.

Why is charity such a crucial part of your business? We feel as a long-standing member of the southwest Connecticut community that we should always be mindful of giving back and supporting organizations in our local area that directly impact and improve the lives of our neighbors where we live and work.

What do you consider to be the most rewarding part of giving back? The rewards are evident by visiting the Maritime Museum and watching the faces of children from local schools as they discover the wonders of the sea, and clearly there can be no greater reward than putting a healthy meal on someone’s plate when they are unable to provide that themselves.

What is the most surprising effect philanthropy has had on you or your business?
Although we do not offer assistance to the charities we support for specific return to our business, the satisfaction that we are helping our neighbors generates a good feeling with our employees and certainly promotes our concern for the communities we serve to our business partners and clients.
