Do you typically toss your old eyeliner? Here’s a better solution, just in time for Earth Day: Sprout World makeup pencils. “We launched the world’s first eyeliners and browliners that can grow into wildflowers when they’ve become too small to use,” says Stine Mynster, PR director at Sprout World.
The eyeliner is available in black and brown, while the browliner is in brown. Each one comes with a built-in seed capsule that, when planted, sprouts in about 10 days.
“The makeup pencils took quite a long time to develop, because apart from the plantable aspect, we wanted them to be of high quality, the right texture, color rich and with a vegan formula,” explains Mynster.
The company also offers plantable writing pencils that herb seeds like basil and sage, and similarly, the wood used comes from forests where a tree is planted for each one cut. Plus, they’re Allergy Certified, which means they’re free of harmful ingredients and allergy triggers. Next, they’re looking into more colors, and possibly lip liner and concealer.
